1. Introduce yourself...even if you've already been introduced. Someone might not have been paying attention
2. Find one compliment to say about the city you are visiting
3. Thank the host group responsible for the speaking invitation
Don't:
1. Ever apologize to start off a lecture
2. Forget what city your are visiting
3. Thank the sponsors at the opening...Acknowledge them during the lecture when it is appropriate and Thank them at the end
